"Trampa Tren" is a filmic investigation about the Maya Train and its consequences in the Yucatán Peninsula, Mexico. This train is more than just a rail line: it implies land grabbing, deforestation, environmental degradation, displacement of population and the elimination of the maya identity.
 

In this blog I want to collect all inputs during my pre-investigation trip from Bacalar to Palenque in Jan-Feb 2022 as well as my main investigation trip along the whole route in Dez-Feb 2023.

I take interviews in communities along the route of the train. I interview activists, archaeologists, biologist and habitants of the villages.

During this trip i also give animation workshops to children.

This project is supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Arts, Cultur, the Civil Service and Sport (BMKÖS).

I am an experimental animation film and sound artist, living in Berlin, Germany.
